Tyler Frenzel was not your ordinary nine-year
old boy. Tyler was 7 years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia.
He spent the last two years of his life teaching others about courage, faith, love, generosity and the ability to live life
to the fullest. His approach to fighting Leukemia resulted in
improved lives of those who knew him and many who never met him.
Tyler 's motto was “Fight Hard, Never Give Up”. This
is the way Tyler lived.
Tyler had a dream and it was simple. A treehouse. Build a treehouse
where kids can play and feel “normal” all the time.
He wanted to help children, who like himself, had been struck
with illnesses beyond their control. He wanted to help create
a place for these kids and their families to go where they can
love and laugh together. Tyler donated the first $1,000 of his
own savings to start making his tree house dream come true.
On December 21, 2004 the Enis Furley Foundation teamed up
with Peyton Manning's Peyback Foundation and The Bob and Tom Show
to hold a charity
auction to raise funds for our beloved hero. The auction raised
over $150,000 towards his treehouse. In Tyler's honor, we are
going to build a gigantic treehouse with an awesome playground
inside of Camp Emma
Lou. We are going to name it “Tyler's Treehouse” - so every child that plays on it knows who gave it to them. And
we are going to do all of this the way Tyler would have wanted
it … together.
Tyler was 9 years old when leukemia robbed him
of his life. His disease may have won the battle, but his spirit
will win the war. Thank you, Tyler.
